Since you are talking about medicare and medigap I have a question. I have had Medicare for a decade with a United Health plan F. There is no out of pocket, even deductible with plan F and it is no longer offered since Medicare said too much was covered by it. It was replaced by G (I think?). The plan F has paid everything that Medicare covered and the year to year increase was minimal. My question is about Medicare itself. I have found that there are a number of tests/procedures that have not been covered and I had to pay for. Sometimes a blood test or an ER procedure. I complain to Mayo Clinic (my provider) and they always say they coded it correctly. I appeal to Medicare and sometimes win. Have others found there are occasional charges the Medicare denies, or is it a Mayo Clinic Finance department issue? By the way, I am very happy about Mayo healthcare having all the records and doctors/specialists in one location near me, and they are all on salary so there is no issue about doctors doing extra things for financial gain.
