See what you guys did? All that talk about margin scared people off. Down 7/16 now, 7 1/16 x 7 3/16. Hopefully just some profit taking.

I had an experience with E*Trade where in order to buy options I had to have a margin account. It is very easy to buy on margin without realizing it if you don't understand E*Trade's description of your account balances and what is available, which is what happened to me.
I never intended to use margin, only wanted to trade options, but before I knew it I was buying on margin. Only myself to blame, although E*Trade could do a better job of explaining what the different account balances are.

That is likely what is happening. They show on the margin account, simply because they are marginable, not necessarily because they are margined.
