In the vast majority of states, the age of consent is 16 or 17. Even DC where it is 16. 18 is less common. ageofconsent.net

Thanks for expressing your approval that Gaetz paid an underage girl to have sex with him. I neither approved nor disapproved. If they had consensual sex, paid for or not, it's no big deal. And nobody else's business. A non issue.. I'd be much more concerned by a 17 year old (or younger) girl, irreversibly getting pumped full of hormones, sterilized and having her tits cut off because she thinks she's a boy.
