As I remember it, Lincoln's party of middle-class farmers and tradesmen wanted to stop the expansion of slavery into newly settled western states and the enforcement of the Runaway Slave Act in northern states. They were opposed by wealthy industrialists and plantation owners satisfied with the status quo. The southern states said, you make it sound like there's something morally wrong with slavery and Lincoln's answer was, if you insist, then let me say it is wrong. After he was inaugurated, the first shot was fired on Ft. Sumter and Lincoln suppressed the armed rebellion. Eventually the U. S. Constitution was amended to ban slavery.

Much better to view Ukrainians as a society filled with fascist lunatics who breath fire from their nose and conjure up spells to kill, therefore they deserve, no must be, wiped off the face of the earth. After all, Vlad said so and Russians are always honest.

Better still, the scary Ukrainians are such a threat, let’s just green light Vlad tossing nucs and get this over with quickly, so we can enjoy cheap gas again.
