I agree with you. We should have the right to ignore a poster who gets really annoying. Even if I too get ignored, well, so be it!!

I agree. The cable modem would be a good way of easily breezing by the posts you don't want to read, but it's not available in all areas.

I have developed my own "Poor Man's" version of the Ignore function using masking tape on the monitor. This can be very time consuming, though, as you often have to rearrange the tape.
