Anyone who expected lasting immunity did do his homework.

This is the same family of virus as common cold and flu. Why would it be an exception with lasting immunity?

I've said it before, the most likely scenario is that we will have an endemic - i.e. going forward, we will have cold+flu+Covid season instead of just cold and flu. This means that you'll have to get your shot every year like you do for flu.
