The brokerage and mutual fund firms are playing their usual game. AOL is rising on SPECULATION. The brokerage firms buy AOL then they work with AOL. AOL sends out a spray of optimistic news. The brokerage firms then upgrade the stock and raise the target price. The herd then starts buying AOL. When AOL gets high enough the brokerage firms will sell, driving down the stock. Then they will downgrade the stock.
