I would refrain from sending them weapons. Weapons is what we are using today to help defend them and keep them feeling safe. Our Naval vessels, submarines and fighter jets etc. are "weapons".

Let them go it alone. Let's see how it works out. They are the best judge of whether their neighbor nations love them because they are "nice", and will remain safe because of that assessment.

Something tells me it won't work out very well (for them), but maybe I'm wrong.
