Just an idea, but perhaps there was a reason to "down play" the
event. Perhaps to give "others" a chance to buy in before
the price goes up. "Partners".

If he claims failure at 93 MPG, he is setting the basis for claiming success at 100 MPG. The difference is that he will have the whole world watching (real time) when he does hit 100 MPG.

I like this guy more and more as I see him operate!
