Inode, a lot of the studies regarding the effectiveness of lockdowns will have the luxury of hindsight.

In general, however, societies that locked down fared better in terms of per-capita deaths and hospitalizations than those that didn't.

The cost, of course, was to their economies. Hard to put a price on that in terms of lives because how do you put a dollar value on life?

That's what makes me mad about people who oppose lockdowns because they believe preserving the economy is worth more than preserving lives. They know that's an indefensible position to take, so instead they deny deny deny that lockdowns saved a single life.

"Prove it," they demand, then proceed to ignore every data point that supports lockdowns.
