Rational arguments will not work on Trumpers. They'll grab onto any anecdotal evidence, or the one out of a thousand "scientists" who'll support what they think. Its the opposite of science. They develop a BELIEF then find anecdotal or science outliers to support their BELIEF. FAITH of course means to ignore ANY proof their crackpot ideas aren't real. People with faith ignore proof... that's the definition of FAITH. Scientist look at data... then develop a THEORY to explain the data, it's not BELIEF or FAITH. Theories change when challenged by new or different data. Trumpers ignore the fact that 99% of scientists disagree with them... and concentrate on finding the 1% that agree with them usually because they are incompetent or corrupt. Usually they think they know more than for example PhDs who study Fluid Mechanics one of THE most complex physics there is. Personally I've come to believe that the predisposition to be brainwashed is genetic. Some people are so predisposed they WANT to be told what to believe. Some people are naturally skeptical and want proof, scientists usually are more difficult to brainwash... but its not IQ which is also a Bell Curve, its other genetic tendencies. Our society thought for years that Nurture trumped Nature. I think it's now clear that Watson and Crick's discoveries changed EVERYTHING... there's no other plausible explanation for scientists who believe in religious fairy tales based on what ever culture brainwashed them. Its a Bell Curve like most things human. Genetics also explains sociopathy and altruism. Now one of the Trumpers will comment that "liberals" are brainwashed... of course some are. Its a Bell Curve. But on the brainwashing graph Trumper conservatives are on the extreme edge of brainwashing. The sociopaths like Trump, Hitler, Putin are on the extreme side of sociopathy. People in the middle are the "undecided" or "non-political" as if being non-political protected Germans from Hitler.

Casino Gamblers... you'll note that they tend to be more easily brainwashed. These are people I call "math challenged"... my friends who casino gamble often tell me they know how to win but for some reason they never seem to come home with large sums. For some reason they don't seem to understand Vegas wasn't built by people who lose at gambling... it was built by people who made money off suckers who think they can beat the house... People who don't give a shit if they ruin families, put elderly naive people into poverty. Trump of course is one of the people who live off suckers. Suckers who adore him. I call Indian Casinos their revenge on the "white man"... he he. I lived in South Lake Tahoe... so I've met a lot of suckers who think they are winners, coming through to get fleeced.
