i-node, What did our federal medical infrastructure do to earn its money those two years, anyway? I have many friends in the health care industry, from doctors to pharmacists to public health officials. All of them rely on the CDC (and the FDA) for regulatory guidance. I witnessed the power of the giant health organizations over the last few years as they played a huge role in gutting our economy and misleading the public. These giant health organizations are responsible for saving millions of lives. Pfizer and Moderna, for example, came up with the best vaccines available in the world. Better than the UK-based AstraZeneca vaccine. Better than Sinovac. Better than PooTin's Sputnik-V which never went through Phase III trials. These vaccines were crucial in helping America and the rest of the world return to a semblance of normal life. Without them, achieving the promised land of "nAtUrAl iMmUnItY" would have cost three times as many lives. Without them, the pandemic's impact to the economy would have been much, much worse than it already is. Pfizer and Moderna, by the way, worked closely with the CDC and the FDA to get their vaccines out as quickly as they did. Trump didn't get the vaccine out of government hands. The free market worked as intended. Pfizer and Moderna based their mRNA vaccines on a mountain of IP and patents, none of which would have existed without capitalism. Tenchusatsu
