Marc and Shane, Thanks for your thoughts. Something that came to mind regarding the concerns of too much inventory floating around the market currently. I think demand for 56k has been real weak pending final industry wide standards. (Big revelation!!) Personally I have been dying to upgrade my current modem but will not go near a 56k modem until all modems talk to each other and the need to download software upgrades will no longer be necessary. Looks like this time is arriving. If I and everyone else sitting on the 56k upgrade fence start upgrading in Apr-98 to Jun-98 time frame, existing inventory should be soaked up pretty quick. Basically I am thinking there is a huge pent up demand for faster modems and this demand is about to be unleashed on the market. This surge in demand most likely will raise all boats that have not sunk in the last year. Then again this is the same song that got me into Boci about a year ago.

I have a call into the company to ask about a 4th quarter conference call and to discuss my above thinking. Will try to post anything interesting I discover.

Chris ...

One of the best times to invest is to take advantage of product transition weakness. Still there are a lot of competitors in the analog modem business and those margins are razor thin. In this kind of situation best bet is to go with the leaders. That would be my take. Still though if and I think it will the modem business takes off all boats should rise. I do not know enough about Global Village (OK I know nothing about GV!). Have the analysts raised their EPS expectations. That would be a good sign for all the companies involved here. Maybe after this Q.
