Hell is eternal - what an asshole your god is, what a prick, what a piece of shit. He sends people to hell because they would not believe in him? A god that had a tantrum and drowned the earth. A real god would make the rules simple - nice people live a long time, real long time, long enough that they will start to believe in him, nasty people get diseases and die. That would be a god worthy of respect - he would earn that respect by modeling sound reasonable behaviour. Amaterasu, Arinna, Apollo, Heloios, inti, Liza, Lugh, Mithras, Huitzilopochtil all had followers who believed all sorts of crap about their god, all were myths just as the magic dude who grants wishes and has tantrums is a myth. Believe what you want - there are people who think god sent trump to save the world and there will be 1000 years of peace. Funny stuff on the whole. HELL is eternal - your god is nothing more than a small, vainglorious, vicious little shit who uses threats to get his way, a negligent, irrational, violent tyrant who practiced infanticide and violence when he was on a bender.
