Gregor, I fully agree with your post to Bob. I think believers should have the attitude that all we have belongs to God, and whatever He directs us individually to give we should trust Him enough to give, whether that be 10% or more/less.

I think the most important thing to Him is our willingness to give in a spirit of obedience, and not how much we think we should give in our own minds.

Nevertheless, I think there's room for discussion on whether we agree that He even "wants" all of us to tithe or not. Even if, under grace, tithing is no longer an "obligation" per se, the question could be: "is 10% the baseline amount that God would at least "like" all his children to give?"

I've struggled with that question over the years, and currently am under the belief that one person's "tithe" may be different than another person's, each under the direction of the same, one Father.
