Perhaps the Palestinians should stop periodically lobbing missiles into Israeli civilian areas and sending in suicide bombers? That might deescalate things a bit.

<Israel rains bombs on Gaza>

In 1947, the UN had a plan, which would have given all of Gaza to a Palestinian State, and a lot more. Israel was not given any part of Jerusalem. The Jews accepted this. The Palestinians rejected it, assuming they would win a war, and conquer everything. They talked openly of finishing Hitler’s Final Solution. From then till now, they still want to destroy Israel. Every nation, people, person, has a right to defend themselves.
