I think if Biden were smart, he’d start pushing for direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. Yes - indirectly - that would mean throwing Zelensky and Azov under the bus. But, it’s time to realize that the Russians will not fold - and will not go away. To the contrary, the more they’re pressured, the harder they will fight.

Nothing good will come out of it — we are fighting a great power that happens to have more nukes and, arguably, better delivery systems than we do.

And, as for the Republicans - marginalize the deep state warmongers in their ranks (people like Lindsey whatshisname) - and force the Democrats to own the stupid war. It happened on their watch, they failed to correctly appreciate the dangers and the complexity of the situation - let them pay the political price.
