if California actually had a functional system of mass transit.

Like Jerry Brown's mega buck, choo choo train to nowhere? How's that coming along? Still burning up wasted billions of tax dollars?

HSR is mass transit at the state level, and would tie in to many regional mass transit hubs, like your very own VTA light rail system, which I think you must have voted against if it was on the ballot.

"California is forcing everyone into EVs."

We won't be forcing you into an EV until we ban the sale of gasoline. You will still be able to buy a new ICE in-state until 2035, a deadline we share with many European countries. You'll still be able to buy used ones, and I think you'll be able to buy new cars out-of-state, if you can find them. I'm seeing a lot of EV ads by the auto companies, who are more interested in selling cars than in selling gasoline.
