The management of Macerich isnt stupid and they are also converting some their mall space to mixed use. It makes a lot of sense to have them become lil villages with restaurants physical fitness centers doctors offices, supermarkets and senior housing all within walking distance . My car insurance this year seems to be about $800 and i have not had an accident or gotten a ticket in at least 5 years. I am guessing that once one our cars bites the dust we will make do with one car. interesting inteview with einhorn on bloomberg. he says that value funds have been mostly pushed out and that there are very few anlysts from value funds on calls anymore. he says that you used to be able from other value investors taking you out at higher prices but that doesnt happen anymore. That would argue against company buy backs as opposed to dividends and special dividends.
