Jones has to pay the legal fees. The top federal tax bracket is 37%. The top bracket in Connecticut is 6.99%.
Seems like a great deal for the tax collectors, the trial (and bankruptcy) lawyers, and the people who believe in "free speech for me, slander lawsuits for thee."

In any case, I do think Alex Jones got exactly what he deserved, but the jury added one too many digits to the amount. Each family should get no more than $1M. The lawyers should collectively get maybe a few million tops.

Awarding close to a billion is ridiculous and should be reduced upon appeal.
