We're into INTC at an average price of 27, but 27 with a 5.4% dividend is a lot better than without the dividend or a reduced dividend.

But going into this I have to admit the risk because paying a 5 or 6% dividend to shareholders while taking taxpayer subsidies is not a particularly good look, especially in an industry where few pay dividends, and the few that so certainly pay no more than a very nominal dividend.

But no dividend and INTC could just as easily be priced at 4 rather than 24.

Intel cut its dividend 66% from $1.46 annually to $0.50 the chip company announced this morning.

It was not a good look for Intel to be accepting hundred of Billions of Dollars in taxpayer subsidies while paying shareholders a 5.6% dividend.
