I define it this way...

Left-Wing (lots of bureaucrats)

Right-Wing (less bureaucrats)

“When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - When you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors -
When you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you -
When you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice -
You may know that your society is doomed.” AYN RAND

We needed a permit to access an area and it was my job to get it.

I forgot to get the permit, we accessed the area and got the job finished.

To get the permit would have taken 30 days and cost $200, plus hours of time filling out forms and talking to people.

To access the area, do the job and get caught without the permit is a possible fine of $500.

And there was some dispute as to needing a permit because no trees were cut.
