If AMD can't get their yields up within a quarter or two, they may pull out of the uP business according to a company spokesman I talked with last week. They have put the new Dresden plant on hold and have shifted all attention to getting the 0.25 um process up and running - their only chance to salvage huge losses. I think AMD will be around, but then you never know. At any rate, IDTI can whip them in a price slug out any day of the year and still come away with profits.

The big and maybe the only issue that means anything is how darn many of the parts can they produce. They need mega builds to do mega business.
