If Trump and DeSantis can find a way to work together - yes, that could be a dream ticket. I think it’s quite possible the two of them may decide to give it a shot.

But there is risk that they may not work well together. My sense is that DeSantis is not a guy who easily takes the back seat - and sets aside his views in favor of the boss’s. Both have big egos. Trump, with all respect, loves to be the Number One - and makes sure everyone always knows that. He also has a history of turning on his associates… albeit, usually for good reasons.

Also — with all the Leftists, never Trumpers, Trump derangement victims and RINOs out there - if they’ll succeed in damaging Trump - that may rub off on DeSantis.

Anyway, they’re big boys. Maybe they’ll decide to be positive about this - and do it. If it works out, it would be great.

The dream ticket next election is Trump-DeSantis.
For the sake of DeSantis's political career, DeSantis should just stay out of Trump's way if Trump decides to run in '24. In fact, DeSantis should keep clear of Trump as much as possible, but without making an enemy of Trump.

For the sake of the country, DeSantis as Trump's VP would be a waste of a good fighter. A smart female POC would be a good choice, if you can find one who can tolerate being jerked around by Trump. Second choice would be a smart black or Hispanic male who has the same tolerance.

But my guess is that Trump won't run in '24. He might feel fine today about running, but with his age and lack of physical conditioning, his health can go down very fast in a short time.

I think Trump will bow out and embrace the role of kingmaker. I bet DeSantis sees the same thing, so he will be careful around Trump. To succeed in '24, DeSantis needs to appear as his own man, not Trump's man.
