The Brits set out to India precisely b/c their own food is so bland and tasteless.
But somehow they never learned. You would think that having the French and Italians not so far away, they could learn a thing or two about cooking.

I lived on fish and chips when I was there. Everything else is boiled until no flavor is left.
I liked Asia and Portugal the best. The snack foods in Korea were great. My favorite was Yuki Mundo and Mrs Kim burgers. LOL The burgers had a chicken patty instead of beef, raw cucumber instead of pickles, cabbage instead of lettuce and some unique sauce.
