You can argue about the benefits of being an informed investor. That's fine by me if it makes you feel better. But the fact is funds have the power, the money, and the info that we do not have. This in turns gives them a tremendous advantage over us. Furthermore, we are not on the floor trading. We in fact rely on some brokrage firm who probably relies on some third party to make the trades. These third parties don't care if they screw us because what are you going to do? Go to another brokerage firm? Fine my them because they probably make the trades for the firm you switch to.

This subject really is useless to debate...but the fact is absolute power corrupts absolutely. I'm not saying these funds or whoever are corrupt, but don't try to make me believe that they are playing on the same field as you or I.
