Don -

Be careful - this is exactly how these message boards can be destructive...

First of all Joe's quote is most likely taken out of context. No company president would say that the big test is a failure. I work in the media and it is VERY easy to twist words.

Second - look at what you just did. First you say
"Why was it a failure just because it didn't hit 100+?"
then four sentences later you ask
"Does it seem strange that the CEO announced the test was a complete failure, and then clammed up?"
Now you have indicated that Joe called the test a complete failure - simply not true. Now another poster will write
"I read that the president of BAT called the test a complete failure and left the track!"

Hell - the test was LAST NIGHT! Clammed up? Uh, some of you people spend just a little too much time too close to your monitors! Give BAT a break! Not everything happens as fast as our modems (or T1 lines)

don,
I did not hear that the CEO said the test were a failure. Where do you see this? I do not think so. I think it showed a lot about the ability for this technology to be used in small cars that will be driven at speeds 40mpg and below. (3rd world countries) With this tech. a gas engine will increase 30% in performance, according to BAT. The gas Geo car during the last testing was able to get about 45mpg while running with the yanmar.
