I wanted to ask you what happened to people with UI before they had antibiotics. Did they heal on their own?
Fortunately, I am not old enough to remember a time before antibiotics ;-)

I would imagine that in some cases it might clear but not before there may have been some damage to the urinary tract. In some folks, it may ascend from the bladder to the kidneys and people would develop generalized sepsis. Most of those people would probably die without antibiotics.
