The police chief who recounted events in the link I posted made clear, emphasized, that BOTH were holding hammers. Of course, they were in Pelosi's house, so it is presumed Pelosi was using his defensively. The whole bloody scene sucks, but there have been plenty of incidents throughout history where bad politicians have been attacked with one weapon or another. It isn't shocking that some crazy would have come looking for Pelosi. They need to get themselves a Glock, I would say.
