Have you listened to Kari Lake lately? She sounds exactly like Trump, even worse. If she wins, the election was fair and just. If she loses, the election was rigged and she won't accept the results. Get enough candidates like that in power and you have a fascist take over where the election results won't be certified. What is the point of having free democratic elections if the majority of candidates and those in power won't accept the outcome? And no, the Dems have accepted the verdict in close elections. You do remember 2000 and Al Gore backing down and not whining about the validity of what took place in Florida?

We got out of Nevada once we saw non-vaccinated working people get treated like second class citizens and charged more for health insurance. That was pretty bad, but not fascism. In NYC, many lost their jobs who refused to get vaccinated. Glad I don't live there anymore. I was in the Yucca Valley, CA in September 2021 and hardly saw anyone wearing masks and nobody cared.

Agreed, fascism can come from left or right. And the US is ripe for it to blossom. We have angry, deeply divided populace, powerful corporations pulling the strings, more and more extreme radical candidates winning on both sides and spewing hate, diminishing power of religious groups, and an economy and currency on the decline. The boxes are all almost all checked. Last one is for the economy and currency to really go into the crapper followed by complete civil chaos and then a right extreme or left extreme candidate, dressed in fatigues or similar will emerge as our "savior", will take over, go full military control / martial law, and rule us with an iron fist.
