I heard a retired Air Force lieutenant general, "the voice of the air force in the gulf war", say on NPR that if they struck again, "this time things would be different." He was asked what would be different.

He said that they would first take out the Republican Guard, then they would threaten the army if they didn't turn on Saddam. They would also remove his money base: they would strike the refineries, then begin to hit the wells on a "program basis."

Of course, that would be devastating to Saddam's power, but also to the country.

However, if Clinton intends to go in, he would like nothing better than to make a name for himself as the president who got rid of Saddam.

Who knows? With his troubles now, it could be the perfect distraction.

I think we will attack. How much we do next remains to be seen. But I would bet on more rather than less: a token hit makes us look silly. And Clinton can't stand to look any sillier .

Hi Everyone -- I am sorry I have been such a ghost of late. I have read a few questions directed at me and don't mean to ignore you, but the Dogged One has never had so many things to do in such a short time. My apologies.

I start the offshore rig brokerage work on Monday. I hope I can share some great info with you folks that will help educate and enlighten. Some things I learn will be confidential, of course, but just read the words of the Dog and don't ask me to provide too many details....ok?

Re the 4-legged dog contest. I will scan in a photo and post a link. There has been ONE corect reply. The dog's name is....Mikey. (Chosen in a futile attempt to make this dog my namesake so that I would be more "fond" of the pest. Didn't work.)

Gotta run for now...

Go FGII (and didn't the Big Dog say in early posts the company they acquire would more than likely be a company that makes jacking equipment....???)

As I said earlier, we're boxed in pretty tightly, and I now agree with you that this formation might resolve to the downside. I didn't like the broad market's lack of follow-through from yesterday's rally.
