2. (a group, person, or idea) favoring or implementing social reform or new, liberal ideas.
noun
1. a person advocating or implementing social reform or new, liberal ideas
The most outlandish act of linguistic piracy occurred when they started calling Big Gov redistributionists, social engineers (meddlers) and various Marxists - “Progressive”.

There is nothing “progressive” about wanting to go back to powerful governments, when people had no rights. Properly, they should be called “Regressives”.

The single most progressive political document ever written was the US Constitution, complete with the Bill of Rights.

Most of what happened afterwards was slow deterioration — generations of politicians stealing more and more power.
