I love that the pandemic gave me an excuse to stay home a lot when driving was involved. I don't actually like going out to boring places around home- BP (before pandemic) people expected you to go to mediocre restaurants because that's just what everyone did. Now you can get out of that a lot more easily. Also, you can suggest a picnic as an alternative to eating inside, and people enjoy that.

We had to put charging cables on the cars we drive them so little now.

Statistically, yes. But in a car you are the driver, or at least can see the driver. In a plane, you're a helpless bystander, maybe 200 feet away from the pilot who is presumably in the cockpit. And you don't generally get to see where you're going. I much prefer taking my chances on the ground. I've been in some of those propeller-driven island hoppers (no doubt more dangerous than a 787) where you can see what's going on in front, and it was much more comfortable.
