Jim and Graham,

I agree with both your posts. It is a fine line, and if he sees bad news coming, then he should not lie or deceive as it will come back in spades. However, if he is being conservative and cautious he is putting his foot in because everyone read this as a real downer. If they come out with another real positive surprise quarter, we can be furious. I suspect that he really has no idea, because so much of their business was 'turns' during last quarter.

I am probably overly sensitive as my big position is with a company called TFS and they have had 3 straight great quarters with real positive revenue and earnings growth with good surprise upside earnings. The last 2 conference calls the CEO has said, next quarter will sustain this one or we'll be flat for awhile before the next spurt. Privately, everyone that follows the company sees big sustained growth - in fact, they have said they're projecting 30%+ annual growth for the next 5 years, but they've scared away all the big boys so the stock has really lagged as volume has dropped and interest has waned. It will definitely go up though.

That's probably why I am so hyper - that and that I'm long MLIN at a net of 9.

regards,

Ed
