last year the current admin tried to push through a bill which would give the Fed govt a lot of say over all elections.
proposed law was clearly unconstitutional. Article 2 "Each state shall appoint, in such manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a number of Electors ..."

Congress cannot tell the states how to elect the President.
