In the beginning of the Ukr war i made an estimate how likely it was that the conflict may lead to a nuclear confrontation. I thought it was about a 15% chance (if I recall correctly) - which would be going up 1% for every week the war would be going on.

I think by now it’s about 50%. So, that call, unfortunately, wasn’t a bad one.

Except, it’s no longer about Ukraine. The unfortunate Ukraine is about to become the battlefield for a huge confrontation between Russia and the U.S. led “coalition of the willing”. (It needs to be the “willing” - because only a couple of NATO member nations, apparently, will join).

So, as summarized in that Ritter article, we are moving towards having to decide “To Be or Not to Be”
