Typical CBC "Eye on America" only they started their two part series on the car of the 21st century, with a...Toyota. The one that uses a gas engine to charge the large onboard battery. Tomorrow night is report on America's plans for "car of 21st century". I'll bet it will be that GM electric car they have been testing on limited basis. Did NBC run anything on battoutahellcar?

I think your right. What are the odds of a stock landing directly on 1.0000 at close? The other question I have is why does the L.A Times only mention 2 test runs rather than 3? If they couldn't manage to get that simple fact straight. Could it be possible that they managed to flub up Joe's reaction to the test? Sounds like we have some conflicting interests here. Fuel economy vs. oil tycoons. Who would have all the A's at hand right now? How much room in hell would someone take to write an article that would make the second coming of Christ seem less that impressive? << Well, maybe a bad analogy... but none the less. There are many issues here. Watch this stock very closely. The tycoons are not all to ready to give 2/3's of their market to some super efficient engine. Or don't they care...?

Regarding the CBS bit...

I was not expecting BAT Geo car to be covered, but I was still a little disappointed when it wasn't mentioned. However, one good thing came from the report...

The Toyota shown is a hybrid gas / electric car with the batteries charged from the gas engine (!? - Sounds horribly inefficient to me!) It lacks hill climb power and has poor performance in cold weather. But the big gotcha is the fact that in order to sell it, Toyota has to market it for less than what it costs to manufacture! OK - maybe a foot in the door, but what then? Conversely, if I am not mistaken, the BAT engine can be built on a regular assembly line with relatively few changes, therefore add very little cost to the regular gas hog, BOOSTS power (? - that WAS stated, correct?) and gets higher mileage than the hybrid! Hummm, if all this is true, then Ford could FLATTEN Toyota with BAT tech!

Couple of thoughts.....

1) Timing of the CBS & NBC stories is rather amazing ...isnt it?!

2) I think the people at BAAT to a gamble and said, Hey lets announce the deal via Lockheed Martin BEFORE the trial...then blow everybody's mind with a 100+mpg average....in hindsight...the nothing to sneeze at performance of 92-95mpg should have been FOLLOWED UP with the announcement....

3) The CBS story on Toyota having a car in the US market within TWO YEARS doin 66mpg....seems to me that this will only help scoot things along on the homefront....the Big 3 have certainly *wasted* money before on gambles...and behind closed doors only the Big 3 know just how long it will be before they are ready to compete in the mucho higher milage race...IF they aint close...could step up the prospects of a gamble on the homefront...BTW, I mean *wasted* money in the kindest terms....(ie: AMC PACER, Reliant K Car etc)...Europe, though seems to be the most logical place for BAAT to conquer first..

4) I wish I would have sold some of my shares at the 3 buck mark...
but I didnt.....live and learn

5) IF Joe comes thru in the next 2-3 weeks on the filing to the SEC that will, to me, be a sign of checking off another thing on a loooong list of things yet to get done...

6) Exercise some patience if you really believe this technology to happen...BAAT can only do so many things at once....I for one will hold tight puttin a little more faith than maybe I should that Lockheed Martin would not play middle man on any deals without fully investigating its pros and cons...

7)*edit* How would you all feel if BAAT sold this technology to the Japanese auto market?

This IMO are my thoughts...and also being in the media business I KNOW what HYPE is all about....figure out the game YOU want to play and play it as best as possible..otherwise....hang on...could be an interesting next 6 weeks or soo....

Broken Stock?? Never recover??
Simply because uneducated panicked daytrading tick watchers dump and give away there shares to Market Makers who love to shake em from them doesnt change one thing with whats going on with this company..
And its alot of exciting things that seem to be right on the horizon..
IMHO
Good luck to all..
