I would say DeSantis is charismatic — if you can see charisma in being competent, smart and energetic. He is a strong leader. But, you have a point. Trump's support would be great. But Trump needs to accept the fact that he himself is unique - he’ll never find anyone similar. It will need to be a different personality. And Trump, in January 2025 will be a few months short of 79. So, a change of guard is unavoidable.

Everything I've read about this issue this morning is quite disturbing, IMO.

IF what is being written about DeSantis is true, and he's thrown his support to the GOPe, aka the swamp, he'll divide the party and democrats could end up winning the presidential election in '24. After the slaughter in the midterms and two yrs of the same old, same old from republicans.........lack of a federal abortion law, (which seems to be a very important issue to dems and will be used as a cudgel against republicans), cuts in social programs, (which of course means not growing social programs the way democrats would), no action whatsoever on national infrastructure including finishing the wall on the southern border, continued funding of the war in Ukraine, the usual swamp turning in on itself for its own preservation and republicans being excoriated by the MSM 24/7/365.......it's easy to understand why a fired up dem base would turn out to vote in record numbers in 2024.

The only thing that could possibly save us would be an economic turn around, and that's a tall order. One that would probably take more than two years to accomplish. And why would the Fed go out of its way to help republicans? Biden and co are also going to continue to manage the cost of fuel to suit their own political needs.
