So over the last 80 years, Independents have increased from about 25% to 52%.

Dems have stayed the same at about 30%, BUT

Republicans have decreased from 39% for the seniors to 17% for GEN Z.

So the future looks good to me when one adds women and minorities to the mix.

Women are also dems over pubs by large margins.

NYT:"

"The deepening gender gap in American voting, with men favoring the Republican Party and women favoring the Democrats, is well known, if not well understood. So what explains the presence of millions of men in the Democratic Party and millions of women in the Republican Party? What distinguishes these two constituencies, whose partisanship runs against the grain?"

koan,

Lots of stuff on early voting. This is a piece I saw on NPR

cnn.com

There could be some suppression going on as well because of all the voting laws passed in states like Georgia. I guess we will have to wait until after Election Day to find out if the polls are really accurate or not

As of this writing on Friday morning it looks like Dems will keep the Senate and republicans will barely win the House even after all their gerrymandering.

Dems continue to win in cities where the money is made. In Co, they won Denver which accounts for more than half of the GDP in the state.

In Texas, the five cities that contribute the most to GDP were won by Dems (I didn't look further).

I think it's safe to say three things worked in our favor. 1) the Taliban Court (formally known as the Supreme Court) 2) the nuts who were endorsed by the loser of the last election and 3) Gen Z. I have to admit I'm surprised so many of us voted in a mid term election (still lower than presidential elections though).
