The footage, whether real or CGI, is NOT carpet bombing, or any bombing of any type.

The jets flying overhead are releasing diversionary flares for protection against any heat-seeking missiles fired from the ground.

There are several surface to air missiles fired from the ground which miss their jet targets by targeting the hotter heat signature of the flares trailed far behind the jets.

You also see a couple of black bursts near the aircraft of non-heat-seeking SAMs which also fail to detonate near enough to the incoming aircraft.

The first incoming pass is reconnaissance and orientation, on the second pass the planes overhead strafe the jets on the ground with large caliber machine guns mounted in the jet wings. Every eight rounds or so is a phosphorous tracer bullet so pilot can see where he's firing.

Near the end you see pilots jettisoning from their aircraft on the runway.
