That's good to know, but I never thought plurals or past tense words that end in ED would be the word of the day because they seemed too cheap for the character of the puzzle.

The most frustrating words are ones with a letter with many possibilities. My first miss was SHAKE. SHALE was my second guess then my heart sank as I realized D, K, M, P, R, V could also go in the fourth slot.

Then some time later SHAME was the word. That was my sixth guess that day. If I had thought of going alphabetically I would have been okay. Maybe that's not a bad strategy.
