A crypto currency will work if it is backed by the economy of said country with no ability to print more. Today even Bitcoin is printed you pay for the electricity it cost to generate another coin there is nothing else behind it - therefore it is fraud. If HSBC launder money well you have the enforcement authorities to take care of it like it happen to the Israeli banks in the US - the bank client at the end paid the bill of the fines. If no one watch the chickens then there is a big problem
