W Peavey, here's another. E.g., today this site reported that a S Korean Court ruled that a S Korean brokerage did not have to make good on a $180 mill payment to JP Morgan pursuant to a derivatives contract. The brokerage argued it wasn't "warned of the risk." The weaker SE Asian currencies mean there's lots more of those types of obligations. And when a court rules against you like that, it's difficult to keep it off the books. Note though that the stories change frequently. bloomberg.com
