The issue with American Populism is that in has not developed its own group of leadership - it’s own elite. Its leader, Donald Trump, is not getting younger - and he may have the voters, but he hasn’t enough high level followers, and no potential replacement. If re-elected, he will - once again - have to recruit his team among people who may not share his views. I’m sure he regrets he didn’t start his political career 20 years earlier. I wish he did.
