Michael- I don't remember JMAR ever making an evening announcement before so it struck me as odd. If I wasn't a member of SI I would never have even been aware an announcement was made because due to the timing I would have had to access my broker between 8pm and midnight to have my account flagged for the news. Since the news was released yesterday there was no flag today. Four hours total and none of them during usual business hours. It doesn't sound like he wanted it to appear he was shouting the news from the rooftops.
You're right, if they truly need the money the warrants will be an easy way to get it. In that case I would be happy they extended them. I just do not believe that money was Martinez' motivation.

I also agree with your last statement. The company's new terms will indicate their feelings. A strike price at the old level will suggest they need money bad enough to dilute. A new, more optimistic, higher price, will indicate no pressing need for money along with the implication that the extension was mostly the result of Martinez' compassion for his 'loyal investors'.
