I believe the first implementation was on the hallowed USRX thread (sniffle), and was Brad's first attempt to deal with the matter of off-topic posts. It was an utter failure on the USRX thread, but has been quite successful in connection with some other threads. If my recollection is correct, only registered SI members are allowed access to the Clubhouses.
