Good point Mq. After the war is stopped, perhaps via neutron bomb, Germans will be very happy to revive their lives with convenient cheap methane from Russia, rather than expensive, inconvenient, unreliable, dangerous LNG from belligerent USAUSAUSA who destroyed the German pipeline.

PS...The Council on Foreign Relations should consult you to get a clue. The Demoncrats are too far gone. Beyond help. Hopefully the more sensible people in USA will figure out where their leaders are taking them.

Thank you, for calling me an intelligent person. My ego has been adequately stroked, for now. Please do this daily.

<how beloved USA is around the world>

Agree 100%. I have travelled widely. Many times, I have been advised to pretend I am Canadian. Even in the most friendly of nations, like New Zealand. I was born in Mississippi, but don’t usually tell people that, so they don’t think I am a racist with an IQ of 65.

< mass murders of civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki>

Agree 100%. Truman did not have to use nukes. The targets were unarmed civilians. The war would have ended soon anyway, without a invasion of the Japanese homeland, because Russia invaded Manchuria, and Japan was starving.

But the USA in 1945, and Russia in 2022, are totally different. False analogy. As you point out, in 1945, the USA had the whole world as allies (or already-defeated enemies). Today, Russia has no allies. As friendly neutrals: China, Iran…..and who else? Russia is isolated in 2022; the USA owned the planet in 1945. If Russia owned the planet today, they could get away with using nukes. But they don’t, and can’t.

Perhaps we could discuss the 1812 Overture and Stockholm Syndrome tomorrow. But only if you keep stroking my ego.
