I know a lot about the Nevada/Arizona political scene since I lived in Nevada for 4.5 years and have lived in very different parts of the State in Arizona over the past year. First of all, Nevada use to be a libertarian/conservative State. But as the cost of living increased in the State of CA, many Californians moved to Nevada and many well to do Californians bought second homes in Nevada and live there for 6 months and a day to establish residency. Nevada is now made up of 37% Californians, who are mostly liberal and have changed the whole political landscape there. Plus, Nevada is a very transient State where youngsters graduating college leave to experience life outside the desert and many eventually come back to their roots. Nevada is as polarized a State as you will find, with Conservatives and Liberals in hostile confrontations daily, not just on political issues, but on social issues also. Conservatives in Nevada don't like to be questioned and liberals are constantly questioning. Plus, Conservatives in Nevada hate Californians and think they have ruined the State. In short: it makes for many hostile interactions on a daily basis.

Arizona is not a purple State, but a red State. Trump and Lake have insulted McCain supporters, which are many, and they have voted Dem as a result. Lake basically told McCain supporters that she did want or like them, so they reciprocated and voted against her. Not to smart. But that's Kari Lake for you. Lots of young people moving to Maricopa County, turning the County blue.

Mark Kelly is a liberal who gets away campaigning as a moderate because his wife is very popular in the State. Sinema decided early on that the way to succeed in Arizona was to be a centrist and align with corporate interests. Should be interesting if the liberals challenge her in the 2024 primary. They may be able to get away with it if the Republicans nominate another election denier and they alienate McCain voters again.
