We were in a legal dispute with another company and would have probably lost if it went to court.

We had the right in our contract to audit them at our cost and we did.

I asked our forensic auditor before he had even seen the books what were the chances of us finding something useful.

He asked me how much money did I have to spend, and then said "I always finds something".

And indeed he did, nothing really serious but questionable enough to derail the legal proceedings and have them mend their ways.

They also paid for the cost of the audit based on what he found.

I had $6000 + stolen off a Visa one time, it was used to purchase a motorcycle in Mexico.

Visa was reluctant to tell me who the culprit was but we found out later and we knew him.
