Interesting story in the February 23, 1998 issue of Forbes ASAP magazine.

Cisco made first place in their story of "The ASAP's top 100 Dynamic companies".

Some excerps from the story:

"Cisco Systems is on top of the networking world. It's so on top of its game, in fact, that it's wiped out practically all its competition, and even Wall Street skeptics gush about its performance. They named the 14-year old networking giant ASAP's Most Dynamic Company this year-out of a field of more than 900 technology contenders."

"During his three years as CEO, sales have nearly tripled to $6.44 billion, profits are up from $456 million to $1.05 billion in 1997, and Chambers boasts,"Our $60 billion market cap is 60% to 70% larger than our next seven competitors-combined."

Anyway it's a great story. It should be available at Forbe's website in a few days. I'm amazed how much they gush about Cisco!
